The Effingham Badgers

I was very happy to accept a commission for this artwork despite the rather pressing deadline of about 20 days. My brief was to create a linocut print featuring the badger and the Girl Guides trefoil. As a lover of British wildlife, particularly mammals, this was right up my street. I decided to create a 2-plate print – which is difficult to line up (register) onto each piece of paper, but gives flexibility in choosing different colour ways. I have so far created 2 prints – with mint green and grey foliage or moss-green and grey. The pictures below show the process in reverse from final print to conception. If you ever have any queries about process, do get in touch.
