Richmond Park deer: “Rumination”

I have just completed this 7 stage reduction linocut. I spent around 3 weeks working on this. Inspired by a photo by Emma Hughes (@emma_hughes_hdp), though I have given it a whole new colour palette and altered the composition. The slideshow above shows the 7 stages and the gallery below shows various shots during the…

Skirrid Print Studio: the first 6 months

So from this shell of a building – which had previously served as a bootroom and storage space (with 2 tiny rooms upstairs) – the charming Welsh builders, Dickie and Rich, created a 2-storey print studio, with its own entrance. This was in March 2019 and took a good few weeks. The finishing touch was…

The Effingham Badgers

I was very happy to accept a commission for this artwork despite the rather pressing deadline of about 20 days. My brief was to create a linocut print featuring the badger and the Girl Guides trefoil. As a lover of British wildlife, particularly mammals, this was right up my street. I decided to create a…

Solva Quay, Pembrokeshire

We’ll be printing with my handmade stamps – a host of animals, trapeze artists, clowns and ringmasters on a colourful circus background. You’ll have…

Sales in my Etsy shop boosted with new print

I recently discovered a new format that I love working with – a circular design (inspired by my breakfast sideplate – a Eureka moment). My first use of this is for the print Forest Friends, Firegazing, an image I made for my son and daughter Rowan who love animals and being outside. This has proved…
